A walkthrough of creating an xml or json data connection in Connect.
Connections can be created to XML or JSON formatted URLs for use as either collections or single data point connections.
When creating a connection to a data source select the widget then click Connect to Data Source under the data header in the right hand properties panel.
Next click on XML or JSON URL under the Create a Connection heading.
Currently XML or JSON URL connections are unauthenticated, if you need a higher level of security consider our REST API as a data connection method.
Copy your data url and paste it into the corresponding field in Connect. Then click Import Data to continue.
The URL Connection can also accept Excel, CSV, TSV, and iCal.
A node picker will appear where you can select the node for the collection you want to use. Click on the node name or collection total to select the node.
The node selected will appear in a table. Adjust the data Columns for name, data type and use the preview to validate your data connection is correct then click the continue button.
Set your synchronization frequency
Then name your connection and select if you want it shared with other apps.
Once the Connection has been made click Close.
Now your widget is Connected to a XML or JSON URL.
