We're nearing the two-month mark on the launch of Connect, and during that time we've seen a flurry of activity in Connect of people testing, creating and publishing. It's been a lot of fun watching the creative juices flow. Here are the apps we've noticed people are building most often.

The top apps you're about to see will be featured in our Screenfeed branding, But if you're interested in having your content project featured on the Screenfeed website, please contact us!

Without further ado, here are the most popular 5 apps to date:

#1: Calendar Apps

Coming in hot at number one are calendar apps. There are 30 calendars currently created, with weekly calendars being a tad more popular than single day calendars, and two week calendars trailing behind the others. It's always helpful to know what my team members are up to for easy collaboration and communication, so a calendar is an easy win. There are also plenty of users that have used calendars to display upcoming events - keeping attendees at their venues in the loop.

#2: Countdown Clock

Who doesn't love a countdown to an exciting event? Showing the time remaining until an event occurs creates anticipation and even brings people back to a venue when the event takes place. Of course, countdown clocks don't have to only be used for events - they can promote new hires joining the team, new product launches, or anything else that people might be looking forward to (company happy hour, anyone?)

Team happy hour is almost here! Keep track of time with the Countdown Clock app

#3: Menu Boards

Popularity of menu boards is obvious to me as someone who used to work at a restaurant. When I was younger, I was a hostess - seating people, helping with takeout orders, and tending to the menus. Taking care of the menus meant wiping down the plastic covers when spills or sticky messes happened, and stuffing those plastic covers with a new menu print whenever the menu got updated. This was a seasonal occurrence and it was always a late shift whenever the menus needed updating.

I would have given anything to have a digital menu board that could be updated with a few clicks rather than stuffing menus for hours on end! Digital boards also save folks an extra step of pulling out their phones (and glasses) to scan a tiny QR code.

Lunch is served, and updating the menu is a breeze with the Menu Board app

#4: Featured Person & Messages

It's common knowledge at this point that employee encouragement is a critical factor in employee engagement, motivation and overall happiness. With job volatility being higher over the last two years, a little encouragement can go a long way. At Screenfeed we practice giving kudos for a job well done, running an effective meeting, giving helpful feedback, and everything in between.

Featured Person messages can go beyond kudos; use messages for new hire welcomes, retirement send offs, top performers, or just employee fun facts to get to know team members a bit better.

Great job team! Give a shout to your co-workers or display other encouragements with the Employee Messages app

#5: Featured Items

Featured Items is another app whose popularity doesn't surprise me, because the flexibility of this app is next-level. Before I customized this template to show Screenfeed branding and products, the template featured a burger and restaurant logo. In about 15 minutes, I had it updated to feature the popular Screenfeed weather app, Weather Graphics.

Featured items are powerful promotional tools to help upsell, cross sell, or bring awareness to new or updated products or services.

Boost your most popular products or introduce the "next big thing" with Featured Items app

And that concludes the top five most popular app templates, for now anyway 😉 As time goes on, I look forward to seeing what other trends emerge from the apps users are loving and creating.

If you're feeling particularly inspired after reading this post, Connect is completely free until October first. Feedback, project ideas and template suggestions are welcome more than ever right now, and we'd love to help you put together your first Connect project if you're not sure where to start.

Happy creating!
