Screenfeed – The Digital Signage Content Store, is providing an updating NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament bracket as content for digital signage networks at no cost. Interest in the colliegate tournament spans beyond traditional sports fans as many non-sports fans participate in prediction pools at work, with family or friends. Adding the tourney bracket to a playlist over the next few weeks offers great looking and timely content to an audience.
The design of the bracket follows a theme of a sports fan who is eagerly following the tournament. As the tournament progresses the graphic will evolve. The design will be updated with advancements and scores as well as additional “hand written” notes that are added like personal commentary to the fan’s bracket such as “Wow. I saw that one coming!”.
The tournament bracket feed is automatically updated and is available in a variety of formats. The animated Flash version first shows the entire bracket and then zooms in to each bracket region for better viewing. A non-animated Flash version is available and additional delivery methods include a remote JPEG, Media RSS feed and web url.
Due to the amount of information presented in the initial rounds, it is recommended the graphic be displayed full screen or in a large zone in environments where viewers are in closer proximity to the screen. As the tournament reaches the Final Four the graphic will update to focus on the later rounds and display information in a larger view.
A preview of the content is available on the Screenfeed website. To receive the feed, customers just need to ask. Any customer who fills out the request form on Screenfeed’s website will be sent information on how to implement the feed.

New Photo Trivia and Event Info Channels

Today Screenfeed launches several new digital signage content channels we feel will provide digital signage networks with better options to make their screens more interesting to viewers. We’ve been working hard to continue to build a strong collection of ready-to-use content the continuously updates to keep screens fresh – and we’re passionate about it.

All too often we’ve seen poor content used on digital-out-of-home networks. Content that is not current, not interesting and does not attract attention of viewers to the screen. Text-based “fun facts” are not fun. The Word-of-the-day doesn’t get me excited and as an industry we use RSS news feeds all together too often. Digital signage is a visual medium and can do so much more.

Our content channels are built specifically for digital signage and with the first intent of being visually interesting to attract attention and then be constantly updated so we can keep viewers entertained. Content is why your viewers are looking (or not looking) at your screens. If viewers are not watching it doesn’t matter how fantastic a network or sophisticated your software is. Advertisers are increasingly demanding that you show viewers actually watch your screens. Move beyond text based news feeds or stale graphics and provide engaging digital signage content that changes throughout the day, every day and fits the interests of your viewers.

Check out our new content channels including our Local Event Info channel that displays an animated loop of local concerts, sports events, theatre and community events. Content can be hyper-localized to within 10 miles of a zip code or set to a metro area.  Our new Photo Trivia channel uses beautiful HD photos of famous people, events and places in a fun animated format to keep viewers entertained.

More to come!
